The linkage system is made out of die-cast aluminum, and will hold up to 136kg (300 lbs). The retraction pivot points are composed of stainless steel pins which swing up or down with ease, while offering heavy duty support.
As you can see in the images, the AMP Research BedStep comes with a non-slip step pad. It is made out of durable and glass reinforced composite, which assists in a safe step up.
Simply kick the step down with a gentle nudge of a toe and whether the tailgate is open or not, you've got the boost needed for a comfortably and safe stepping experience. When your truck bed trip is complete and you're ready to step down, simply flip the pad up into its retracted place and go about your business. No bending over. No tracks to roll, no nothing! The best part - you'll hardly notice the step is there.

Fitment
Not a direct bolt on for RAM 1500 DS without modification. In the closed position and STANDARD exhaust, the arm hits the exhaust. Modification to the mounting holes were required to enable it to be moved away from the exhaust. I doubt it will fit with larger aftermarket exhaust systems without additional modifications. Once fitted, the Bed Step works well and does the job it is supposed to do. Very happy in that regard. This was done on a 2023 ASV Ram 1500

Good product nut hits exhaust when folded up

Good product if it fitted correctly to 2021 quad 1500. Hit on dual exhaust and underside of body of bed. Also bracket sat on bolt of tow pack factory fitted.
Fitted okay after modifications to bracket and exhaust

Reasonably easy to fit, instructions could be better. Touches exhaust pipe when folded up. Overall good product, fit for purpose.

Bed step
The Bed step works great. The fitting instructions did not appear to suit my model and I needed to modify the mounting bracket to fit it to the car. What should have taken 30 minutes to fit ended up 5 hours. Once fitted it works great
